When I'm creating web pages I like to use an animated image to indicate that an action is taking place, usually an AJAX call is in progress. Whenever I see one on other websites I save it and add it here. There is some duplication because I havent gotten around to sorting them yet. Also some may look similar but actually may have timing or background differences.

This page will never look very pretty because theres no nice way to display lots of animated images of varying sizes.
