Strange writting style, sort of first person but more like first person thoughts. Not sure I like it. Its actually difficult to read. The character is a bit of an idiot and rather annoying.

Nope, didnt like it. Not a story at all, just three or four days of an anoying kids life after he flunks out of school. It is however a typical school book. Look on the web and you can read all sorts of essays into the characters motivation and personality traits. I'm glad I read it because its a "classic" but I didnt enjoy it.
