"The Abbey Grange"

From the Series: The Return of Sherlock Holmes

Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, Edward Hardwicke as Dr Watson (13 episodes)
First published in "The Strand Magazine" Sep 1904 (ABBE)

Synopsis:
Does Holmes find more to the mysterious death of Sir Eustace Brakenstall when the case appears to have already been solved?

Review:
Featuring Anne Louise Lambert as Mrs Brakenstall. This is an interesting tale with some standout deductions from Holmes. However in a rare show of compassion he allows the guilty to flee. He does this in other stories and just doesn't sit right with me.

“Come, Watson, come!” he cried. “The game is afoot”

I am the wife of Sir Eustace Brackenstall

It was the body of a tall, well-made man, about forty years of age

Halloa, halloa, what is this?

I could see by Holme's face that he was much puzzled

Look at that mark on the seat of the oaken chair!

Holmes gazed at it then passed on

The door opened to admit as fine a specimen of manhood as ever passed through it
