"The Boscombe Valley Mystery"

From the Series: The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes

Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, Edward Hardwicke as Dr Watson (9 episodes)
First published in "The Strand Magazine" Oct 1891 (BOSC)

Synopsis:
Holmes comes to the aid of a young woman who believes her friend has been wrongly accused of murder. The case is against him and it seems all is lost.

Review:
Not a bad episode with Holmes reaching many clever deductions to identify the true assailant. However Holmes again oversteps the law and allows a murderer to live while an innocent man languishes on goal. Justice prevails but the innocent man must spend weeks in custody.
