First published in "The Strand Magazine" Dec 1903 (DANC)

Synopsis:
Cryptic chalk drawings of "Dancing Men" strike fear into the wife of a country squire who seeks Holmes aid to save her.

Review:
While not big on deductions this episode has a startling conclusion.

Holmes held up the paper

My wife threw her arms round me

“I suppose that you are the detectives from London?” said he

They both remembered that they wre conscious of the smell of powder

He bent forward and picked up a little brazen cylinder

Holmes clapped a pistol to his head and Martin slipped the handcuffs over his wrists

He buried his face in his manacled hands
