"The Devils Foot"

From the Series: The Return of Sherlock Holmes

Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, Edward Hardwicke as Dr Watson (13 episodes)
First published in "The Strand Magazine" Dec 1910 (DEVI)

Synopsis:
Holmes is convalescing when bizarre death captures his interest.

Review:
An enjoyable episode until Holmes take a drug trip then it goes a bit silly. Some wonderful characters and a cunning murderer. The method of death was far fetched. Once again Holmes takes justice into his own hands.

Illustrated by Gilbert Holiday

...He spent much of his time in long walks...

We ascended the stairs and viewed the body

Beside it sat the dead man, leaning back in his chair...

Together we lurched through the door

...He sprang forward with clenched hands towards my companion
