"The Man with the Twisted Lip"

From the Series: The Return of Sherlock Holmes

Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, Edward Hardwicke as Dr Watson (13 episodes)
First published in "The Strand Magazine" Dec 1891 (TWIS)

Synopsis:
Can Holmes save the beggar with the twisted lip from the hangman's noose?

Review:
I liked this episode, the story at least. Holmes solves the case with a bit of meditation and some clever deductions. Not the biggest mystery to solve but an enjoyable one.

Staring into the fire

“Holmes!” I whispered

He flicked the Horse with his whip

At the foot of the stairs she met this Lascar scoundrel

He is a professional beggar

Stuffs all the coins into the pockets

“Frankly, now,” she repeated

The pipe was still between his lips

He took out a very large bath sponge

He broke into a scream
